Ganesh Himal Base Camp route provides the trekkers opportunity to explore the exotic view of its flora and fauna especially during spring season. The striking presentation of barberries, Premolars, orchids and a variety of ferns gives the exotic view as well as the vibrant smell all around the trekking route. The trekking trail takes all the way through the emerald hills, beautiful Tamang villages, Terraces filled with golden rice and mustard, natural hot water stream, deep Gorges, glaciers, with forests of blue pine, Spanish oak, and blossoming Rhododendron forest adding beauty to the path. The trek starts from a long drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi which takes about seven to eight hours. On the next day, we commence our trek to Gatlang Tamang Village. On the seventh day of our trek, we reach Ganesh Base Camp where we will spend two nights and explore the valley. Our representative will receive you outside TIA. Look for placards of your name. They will meet and greet will you and assist you in transferring to your hotel via a private vehicle. You can rest at the hotel or visit our office if time permits. Enjoy traditional Nepali dinner at the hotel in the evening.
Today you will have a fun day of sightseeing today as we guide you through the venerated landmarks around Kathmandu. We will visit popular locations like Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and the hilltop complex of Swayambhunath. In the afternoon/evening, we will head to Thamel for any last minute shopping that you may need to do for trekking essentials. We will also pass through Kathmandu Durbar Square on our way. Meanwhile, our staff members will acquire the Manaslu Restricted Area trekking permits that you will need for the trip.
After breakfast at the hotel, meet up with the rest of the group and hop on the jeep/bus for the drive to our trailhead at Syabrubesi. This 7-8 hour drive along the serpentine highway will take us through Devighat, Ramche and Dhunche and finally the Tamang village of Syabrubesi. You might even witness some good views of Ganesh Himal, Annapurna and Manaslu today if you’re lucky.
The trek finally starts today as we ascend up to the viewpoint for an hour or two and witness the beautiful panorama of Ganesh Himal, Langtang range and the Goljang valey. After some time there, steadily descend into the Goljung valley. Have your lunch at Goljang village and continue on to the Tamang village of Gatlang.
e will hike from Gatlang to Parvati Kunda, a natural alpine freshwater lake. Named after the famous Hindu Goddess Parvati, the wife of Lord Shiva, this beautiful lake is also considered sacred by the local people.
As you trek further ahead, the habitat and lodges decrease. However, you might come across very few tourists. We continue the trail through lush pine and rhododendron forest to Yuri Kharka. After a delicious meal at Yuri Kharka, we hike towards the Somdang via Khurphu Bhanjyang. There is a shutdown mine, a few hours' walk from Somdang. Though the mine has not functioned for years, you can still take a look around and explore its astonishing beauty. In the past, this mine used to produce zinc, copper, tin, and crystals (including rubies). We will spend the night at Somdang Valley.The valley is so remote and silent you will literally find out what silence looks like.
You enjoy a delicious breakfast. On this day, you will be passing through the Pangsang La Pass, which is a demanding, yet exciting trek. While appreciating the stunning mountains and spectacular landscapes, we head to the southwest of Somdang Village to reach Pangsang Kharka. Pasang Kharka is a large meadow that lies in Pangsang Pass.
From Pasang Kharka, you can witness the panoramic views of Mount Manaslu and the Ganesh Himal Range. As one of the lesser-traveled trekking routes, there are relatively fewer homestays here. Then, we descend to Laptung village, passing through dense fir and rhododendron forests until we arrive at Tipling after a long trek.
You can see two Buddhist Gumba and also Church also, both a Protestant and Catholic Church. Along a ridge top to the east, there is a Gomba. There is also a cremation ground for both Buddhists and Christians. The place has colorful flags. Shertung, which means ‘place of gold.’ According to a legend, two brothers searching for gold were led here by a dream, and thus, the settlement was born. The Tamang people have their own rich culture to show visitors.
They perform Jhankri or shaman dance, ghode or horse dance. There is a rumor that locals brought those traditions from Tibetan culture long ago. Jhankri (shaman) actively follows this territory with the worship of natural forces and indigenous people. Both Hindu and Buddhist practices bound the local deities.
Ganesh Himal trek to Manidadan brings you breathtaking views of the Ganesh Himal range. You can see a stone through the entire Chalish village view on the back. From here, we are trekking to Deul Danda, Gobre village. There is rock climbing possible in Chhap Danda and Bandari Bhir. So, we recommend any rock climber who is willing to climb. However, there needs to be a basic infrastructure. First, we arrived at Borang village, mostly the Tamang people. We continued to Ukhum for lunch.
From here, we will work through the forest and cross the suspension bridge. After passing through Chhapchyat village, you finally get to Jharlang village (Ungul). It provides one of the best panoramic mountain views in the area. This village is Tamang village and has nearly 200 houses.
We will start our Ganesh Himal trek after breakfast we will mostly walk downhill to Jharlang Phedi. We will pass by paddy terraces and surrounding landscapes, suspension bridges, and breathtaking views of Ankhu Khola. We go through Chyamchyat and Ri village, another riverside, to reach Darkha gaon. The mixed community lives here. The Brahmin people, Tamang, and a blacksmith live here.
We will cross the Ankhu Khola and we will pass other small villages, Kintang Phedi, Katunje village, and Jyamrung village. This will make your stunning scenic drive have fabulous landscape surroundings. From Dhading, change another bus and drive back to Kathmandu.
When you will finish your program bcck to your destination With the end of the journey, the departure day has come. You will be transferred to the airport from the hotel by a representative from Himalayan Trekkers, a few hours before your scheduled flight.
